For my first WOC DT project I decided to do an altered canvas tutorial. And if you make your own altered canvas you can enter my Wild Orchid Crafts giveaway if you'd like a chance to win :)
Here's my tutorial for you :)
Here's a suggested supply list of things you'll need if you want to follow my tutorial:
What
you'll need:
- Canvas board/canvas/wooden plaque or similar.
- Image either one of your own images or if you don't have any you think fit this project you might find one at magicmoonlightfreeimages and print it on your favorite paper. If you only have regular lightweight printer paper you can just back it with cardstock. If the image have colors then use those colors in your embellishments
- Choose a title for your piece based on your image
- Choose embellishments, charms/ephemera/dodads to match the theme of your project based on the title and image
- paperflowers in matching colors or color some to match
- you'll need one larger flower to be the center piece of your embellishments
- feathers matching your project
- Ribbon to tie a bow matching your project
- netting fabric/cheesecloth or similar
- lace trim to match
- matching glitter/mica flakes to add some sparkle
- pearl trim/flat back pearl trim or just some flatbackpearls
- a charm/butterfly to go in the upper right corner to create balance, cause we'll keep most of our embellishments in the left hand bottom corner.
- White gesso/white paint
- choose two colors you'll be working with, one background color and one for the embellishments we'll also add more neutral colours like cream/white/browns
- Bottle of color spray for background color. If you don't own any sprays you can make your own mixing water and acrylic paint, or use lindy's stampgang sprays/tattered angels/dylusions/adirondac colorwash or similar
- A spray bottle with water
- Texture paint/texture paste/filler/modeling paste
- Doily/Die cut paper/or a stencil to do some stenciling on the background if you don't have a doilie or die cut paper
- Mod podge, golden gel, any kind of gel medium/sealer that also works as glue
- glue gun or some quick drying tacky glue of some sort************************************************
