The Wednesday Stamper - Wild Animals

Elephant, what Elephant

I made a 6x4 collaged postcard for this weeks challenge. My wild animal is not so wild looking yet, but promises he will be fierce ones he grows up. The cute little blue elephant is a stamp I received as part of a swap from the wonderful Amy (paper&gluestix). Thanks again Amy, I absolutely love it :))

The background and border is painted, inked, stamped with a swirl background stamp, collaged and doodled. The ladybird is made with using a bird from Dutchclogs at flickr, and I cut the face from one of Suzeeque's (on flickr) women, the dress was made from my own painted background paper, I stamped (and doodled a bit on the elephant) on the same paper. I handcoloured the bird and face. The shoes are from Muddledmind at flickr, and the arm from one of my own photos. The words are 'Where are you going with that elephant?? What elephant?? is a quote from Jimmy Durante.

Looking at this sweet little elephant made me think of the fact that even the wildest amongst animals and humans start out as a small innocent looking cutie :)) Thanks to Hermine for a wonderfully fun theme and I can't wait to go hunting for more wild animal projects on your blogs!!
