Hi everybody, I had today off, and I've been working on my Steampunk mini album :) I finished page 2 and 3, yippie!!
I'm using a lot of different mixed media techniques, polymer clay, Anne's 'Clock with wings' diecuts both long cuts and the clocks, Graphic 45 steampunk papers, Tim holtz embellishments and more....

Stickpin crazy :)

Just thought I'd share some stickpins I've made and some information on how to assemble them using glossy accents, one drop between each bead. And where I got the pins, beads, beadcaps and spacerbeads. You can watch the video, and then look at the pictures for more detailed information on what I've used to make the different pins and where I got the beads. The info under the stickpin pictures is a work in progress :)

I use my stickpins in my mini albums, altered boxes, cards etc...

How to use the information under the stickpin photos:
I'll list the items I used making the following stickpins like this:
1-1, 2-3, 2-6, 7-1 and so on....
where the first set of numbers 1-1 show which stickpin I used, the first number is the number of the seller and the second number is the number of the item on the photo showing the items from each seller.

then the sets of numbers following the first set, refer to the different beads and beadcaps, starting with the bottom bead/beadcap first.

Something I made for a friend :) December IARCC

I'm joining the I am roses contest for desember with my latest project :) The theme is Blue and White and I just wanted to share an altered box, a toilet paper roll mini album and a card that I made for a friend of mine. I used heaps of the wonderful flowers from I am Roses to decorate my projects:) I'm also entering the Sukkersøtt challenge 'snowflakes and glitter'. I used snowflakes throughout my album and there is a lot of glitter on my card, box and in my album :)

And here's the card I created :) I'm not showing the right hand inside page, cause I've written a personal note to my friend on that page but here are the three other pages :) it's a 6x6 inch card.

I started with some white swirl embossed cardstock that I cut and distressed with Broken china distress inks and went over it with stickles on the embossed swirls around the edges. I then used some cardstock that I painted and stenciled as my background paper. I tore a piece from a sheet of pink paislee paper and glued behind the top part of my background paper. I painted some japanese mulberry paper in white pearl, glued it down, glued down a part of a white crocheted doilie.

Cut some white cardstock and distressed it using the same distress ink and glued down some sheer embossed and glittered paper. glued down the ribbon and attached it to the background paper using pop dots. Stamped the white heart and 'for you' on a piece of pink paislee paper, tore it out, distressed the edges and where you can see black is where I edged the paper with a black paint dabber. I tied a bow which i glued to the bottom of the heart.

The angel is a free download I had on my computer. I fuzzy cut it and glued it to the heart. and attached it to the paper using pop dots. I decorated the front page of my card using I am roses gardenia and flowers coloured with lindy's glimmer sprays and distress inks to match. I also used som crocheted flowers from I am roses, a glass flatback bead and some flowers cut from a pearl flower trim.

This is just layers of paper a punched border using my martha stewart punch and a punched scalloped circle and a punched and stamped circle saying 'I thought you might need a big hug'

Here you can see how I went over the embossed swirls with stickles.

Altered wooden box

Here's a jewelry box I made for myself :) This is also my first attempt at filming a project and trust me it wasn't easy, cause the only camera available to me was my son's cellphone camera, lol. So I'm concentrating real hard to keep it as sturdy as possible and avoid glare and talk at the same time, and boy was that hard, lol...

Vintage mini album

Here's another envelope album 8 1/2 x 4 1/4, I'm working on :) I bound it using Kellys wonderful tutorial.

Here's what the trim looked like before and after colouring it, and the paperflowers that I painted.

Here's the different pieces that went into making the flower and the finished flower.
I painted and stamped some white paper flowers, inked a doilie a flower applique and some trim and uteed the doilie and flowers. I also made the stickpin.

Halloween Mini Album...

Hi there, long time no see :)
I've been busy making a mini album for Halloween :) Like I've mentioned earlier, we don't really celebrate Halloween much here in Norway, but a couple of years ago some Canadian friends of mine arranged a Halloween party at the local school for the kids :) Everyone had a blast, and my son was lucky enough to win the best costume award :) And since I think Halloween rocks, I thought I'd make an album to house the pictures from the party and make room for pictures from future Halloween partys as well :)
It's just soooo much fun. I just Love all the fun elements I get to play with and the awesome papers from My minds eye!! I've been shopping on etsy and 123.stitch for stamps and ribbons and stuff and I've been looking for free images and found som superb links I'd like to share with you all :)

I googled some images of witches, cats, hats, couldrons, shoes and a medicine bottle and altered and printed them to use in my mini. I just Love how the medicine bottles turned out. I used labels from magicpug on etsy on the bottles. and used the bottles as tags throughout the album :) Love the labels from magicpug, you'll find all sorts of awesome labels and images in the shop on etsy.

I made my first ever Halloween card. We don't celebrate Halloween in Norway, but it looks like so much fun!!!

The image was googled, and since the withches are having tea and there's an invitation for a Soirèe with food inside the card I decided to join the food and drink challenge over at Totallypapercrafts as well. the gorgeous ribbon is from Wholeport on etsy,

Yippie, I'm almost done with the cover, I just have to make up my mind about which closure to use and If I'm going to keep the letters MEG (means Me in norwegian) So I just thought I'd ask you for an opinion on the matter of MEG :) I'd Love it if you'd take the time to let me know if I should go with the letters or not?

Childhood dreams....

Isn't she the sweetest... Image and moths from magicmoonlight images :)

9,5x13 inch canvas board - I started this last night, I hate wating for things to dry but I was using modelling paste so I just had to be patient. this is what it looked like when I said goodnight :) just a canvas with some texturepaste,pearls and alcohol inked and crumpled metal tape.

I used fine acrylic modelling paste for texture, I lay it down with the spatula to the right, on top of the border thingie next to it to get the pattern in the texture, I lay down some strips of metal tape and some half pearls.

After it had all dried I started messing around with this stuff to add colour to the texture; lumiere 550 true gold, gold and black paint dabbers and wild honey distress stain, started by covering the texture with stains, then, gold paint, then black dabber, then white paint and gold dabber...

I Glued down my images put some more metal tape under the butterfly and messed it up and som dabbing at the bottom of the girl to blend her in. some black, brown, and yellow pastel pencils were used to define the image and around the images for some shadow, it was smoothed out with some more of that white paint. I used some glue varnish, much like mod podge to glue down the images and seal everything.

I'm really happy with the result of this textural experiment and I hope you like it and maybe get messy and try it out yourself :)

Sukkersøtt challenge - Metal is it

Here's a card for the Sukkersøtt challenge :) I'm also posting this over at Stamping for the weekend for their spots and dots theme :)

A while back I was fortunate enough to win one of Sukkersøtts wonderful challenges, and lucky, lucky me, look at the two stampsets from Stempelglede.com I won, WOW, they are just more than gorgeous. They're X-mas stamps.

One set is filled with greetings in norwegian, which I don't have a lot of, so that's just awesome.

And the other set are these wonderful angels...

And of course now that I'm back in my craftroom I just had to make a card for this challenge :)

I used dotted cream cardstock as my background. threw down some white paint at random. stamped with a borderstamp from Kreativ Hobby.

Tore, gessoed and distress inked pieces of a vintage brown paperbag with newsprint, glued it into place. lay down some border with holes in it, aged it with distress inks. Glued down a paperstrip. tore some white corrugated cardboard and distressed it, stamped my wonderful new stamp on a manilla background with memento rich cocoa. I must admit I had to stamp a dozen times before I got one I could use, at first I wasn't happy with the colours I tried, and then I pushed down to hard with my brayer a couple of times, before I figured out how to use photo stamps, lol.

Well when I finally got a stamped image that was good enough for me I distressed it and used dimensionals to adhere it to the corrugated cardboard. I glued down some lace, adhered the image with some more dimensionals on top of the lace, leaving some of it peeking out on the sides. Then I distressed and asembled my flower using metal and paperflowers. I had some leftover strips of alcohol inked metal tape, which I glued down, adhered my flower, some prima blings, stuck a stick pin behind the flower, glued down some feathers and Voila :)

Sukkersøtt challenge - Metal is it

I've been having this idea in my head the past couple of days, I don't have any metal tins or metal supplies so I just had to make what I needed from scratch using tiles, polymer clay, cardboard, match box, metal aluminum foil tape, alcohol inks etc... And here's how it turned out :)

Love Shrine...

The dangling Love heart was made out of polymer clay perfect pearls and alcohol inked to match. The word was stamped on silk paper and glued down and it was all covered with glue-varnish. The angel is originally white plastic and was distressed using distress stains, gold- and black paint. The tiles on the arch is textured blue glass tiles, which was covered in alcohol inked aluminum tape and glued down. The crown and the piece behind and above the angel are polymer clay with perfect pearls. the rest is just cardstock covered in alcohol inked aluminum tape.

And here's how I made it :) And boy did I make a mess while I was at it, well, I guess I always make a mess when I'm creating stuff, in fact I'm so bad I'm to embaressed to take part in the What's on your Work desk blogging that a lot of people participate in, lol, well enough babling let's get to the how to...

I used an empty matchbox for the niche I secured the corners with som tape and pulled out my aluminum tape to cover the box with to make it all look metal...

Here's the colours used to cover the aluminum tape.

Of cours I first made the mistake to start the covering before inking, but fortunately my brain started working and I began inking beforehand :) A tip is to ink up a lot more tape than you think you need :)

I pulled a polymer heart I made previously, but which I didn't really like. It was recycled, alcohol inked and I stamped the word love on silk paper and glued it down and covered it all with glue varnish. I set an eyelet in the middle of one of the short sides of my matchbox, used a jumpring and hung the heart there...

I decided my shrine needed a frame of sorts, and of course nothing I had matched the opening of the matchbox, so I took the chipboard frame that was closest in size and cut it down a bit to match. I glued down strips of cardboard on the back to strengthen it...

Again covering chipboard :)

This is what the angels look like before being distressed with black paint and...

distress stain and gold paint.

I cut out a top for my shrine in cardstock and started the whole aluminum covering process again :) Then I decided I wanted some tiles to go around the edge of the top arch, of course again nothing that matched in my stash so I covered up some not so nice but wonderfully textured blue glass tiles.

I quickly figured out it was a good idea to cut some squares out of the corners of the square to ease the covering of the tiles...

I pulled some more premade polymer tile thingies from my stash and started securing them to the sides of the shrine using more foil tape and red sticky tape... Then it was all just a matter of adhering all the bits and pieces together and Voila, my first wall hanging shrine was born...

That's one way of looking at it...

I wanted to make a page on housekeeping and this is how it turned out. The men are collageimages I received in a swap and the awesome Woman, don't you just Love her expression, is from a swap with Lori Dennis, thanks Lori. I've gessoed the background of my canvas journal and glued down bits and pieces of scrap paper, gessoed over the top of it and used Distress Stains, Caran D'ache and oilpastels to colour and distress. Paint dabber arond the edges, some black pen doodling, and some stamping.

The Quote is from Arthur Helps: The man of the house can destroy the pleasure of the household, but he cannot make it. That rests with the woman, and it is her greatest privilege.

Yet another collage :) I just love having some time to create after this very busy sommer...

This collage was made on a painted watercolour background. I used an image and wings from magicmoonlight images and bits and pieces of paper. the moon is from collageimages on flickr. I used after randomly gessoing over the painted background I used distress stains to add some colour to the gessoed parts. I then used distress inks,white paint, gold dabber, caran d'ache crayons and charcoal to distress and finish the piece.

Art Journal - Without Love Time Stops...

Here's another page in my AJ.

pages befor journalling...

I made another page im my homemade canvas journal. I gessoed the page first and then started gluing down scraps and gessoing over as I went. The lines on both sides for writing is a stained and torned notebook page. The clocks were stamped on some tissue/silk paper and glued down. The heart was cut out from thin handmade fibre paper and torn in the middle. My double spread is made so as the right page can flip open and make a three page spread. So there is an opening in the middle. I used a tim holtz quote stamp, and doodled, painted, used caran d'ache and oilpastels and had heaps of fun!!

Without Love Time Stops - journalling included :)

I used the quote:

The Three Muses - Maps

Here's the collage I made for this challenge - A tribute to the brave Arabian woman fighting for equal human rights....

Away from home...

I just Love this image from Suzee Que's flickr, she makes me think of all the arabian women who has had to leave their homelands to get equal human rights and to make a better life for themselves. I saw a documentary from Iran recently, about womans liberation, it was amazing to see how women were changing the sociaty one step at a time. They lost many of their basic human rigthts after the revolution, their were now worth only half of a mans worth, and are decided over in so many ways.....They no longer feel at home in their own country....

I used a painted background with random stitching. To make this collage I printed out an image from an old arabic map, and and All the bits and pieces of scraps and the images was glued down and distressed using white paint, gesso, distress inks, caran d'ache crayons, oilpastels and charcoal.

Here are two collages I made today :)

Harvesting Love....

image from the artcreations friday blog. Egg from collageimages on flickr. I had some painted background paper in very strong colours, I glued a piece of scrap paper down and gessoed over it. I then started placing my strips of paper and som black noir web ribbon which I got from THIS etsy shop, it's soooo cool for backgrounds and halloween crafts etc...I cut the little pink heart from some scrap paper. All the bits and pieces was glued down and distressed using white paint, gesso, distress inks, caran d'ache crayons, oilpastels and charcoal.

The image is from a trade with Lori Dennis, thanks Lori :) the butterfly is from collageimages on flickr. The background is gessoed heavy weight watercolour paper. All the bits and pieces of scraps and the images was glued down and distressed using white paint, gesso, distress inks, caran d'ache crayons, oilpastels and charcoal.

Here's my collage for the challenge :)

Innocence

My collage is 6x6 inches, made on cardstock. I roughly gessoed the cardstock not covering it completely to get a vintage look. I used scrap pieces of paper and measuring tape ribbon and an image from magicmoonlight images. I used distressink, more gesso and white paint to tone the colours down and distress the image. I used black oilpastel and charcoal to define and distress some more. I edged the collage with distress ink and a black paint dabber.

Garden - mini album

I just Love my garden :) I Love flowers, watcing them, smelling them, waiting for them to bloom. So I just had to make a mini album all about my garden. All the pics in my album was taken with my cellphone, I don't have a camera yet :) so the quality is not always good. The album is not finished yet, but I'll share some of my work in progress with you :) My mini album is inspired by the many wonderful women who post tutorials and mini albums on you tube, thanks a million!!

I mainly used Basic Grey - Sultry paperpad for this album.

And heaps of vintage photo distress ink :)

I wasn't quite happy about the bright pink background paper and toned it dowm using a mask and white opache ink, the pocket is an inked coin envelope, which I redused in size to fit the print out of the vintage petunia seed packet. the flowers are primas, the butterfly is from a dollar store, it was turquois and I alcohol inked it to match. I glued down some venice lace and paperlace napkin over it. The letters which spells hage, the norwegian word for garden, was made by heat embossed stamping chipboard using inchie stamps from inkadinkado, I then glued down the chipboard letterstickers and used diamond glaze to finish them off.

The swirl is maya road chipboard, painted stamped with french script stamp, embossed and finished off with diamond glaze. there's a small handmade and stamped tag in the coin envelope. the fleur de lis pull is embossed. The heart was cut from cardstock and covered in paper, the small flower is a stamp, and I put diamond glaze on it. I popped things up with some dimensionals.

It's not done yet :) I've added a quote, I've used quite a few quotes throughout this album. Another coin envelope pocket and a dimensional flower sticker.

The first page

All the pages was made out of office supply envelopes, glued shut and cut open in one end to make tag pockets. I'll have to make some changes to this first page, caus I don't like it :)

I'm a lot happier with how this page turned out. I made a small booklet hinged with twine, it opens by flipping the pages upwards. Created a lot more room for pictures.

It has 5 pages total with room for photos and journalling on the front and back. And of course I glued the picks on the backs upside down at first lol :)The fist spread is all about seeds and cuttings, hence the quote...

Chipboard letters and lace to embellish the tag pocket. I googled and printed out some vintage seedpackets and made tags with stamped journaling spots on the back. embellished with paper flowers. And another quote hidden under the tags :)

This page has a really fun peekabo pocket, which can also be made and used as a gift card holding card :) the link to the tutorial is HERE. I embellished the pocket with a uteed flower, a Velma flower. it looks like glass. Check out her tutorial HERE. The pocket's held shut with a magnet. I'll show you how it opens in a sec :)

This page is quite unfinished. It has a large pocket for photos and tags. the clematis picture is just adhered at the bottom pocket, so that I can slide photos and tags behind it. I finished one tag with a bird inchie pull.

It's my easter flowers page, and it's not yet finished, I'm going to cover the quote with a photo. This is a hinged pocket page.

This page has got a tag pocket made from a modified coin envelope and embellished with a photo. Some prima bling on the side and a resin rose.

This is an accordion booklet which is held shut with a small thing I don't know the english name for up in the right corner. It was supposed to close with a magnet but it's to fat for the magnet to work properly :)

Phew, that's my longest post ever, and if anyone actually reads the whole post, it's nothing short of a miracle, lol. Writing this post has made me well aware that it's not just a lot of fun making mini albums but, there can also be a lot of work involved, lol.

Take a word - Song

I made 3 music themed rings for this challenge :)

The left and right one was made using a scrabble wooden tile (got the tiles from lagunacraftsupply on etsy) as a base. I painted it, glued down some scrap paper, stamped the music note and glued it to the tile, I left it to dry and sealed it using 3D crystal laquer bought from lagunacraftsupply on etsy. Fun quick and easy, and the laquer dries crystal clear, it's just awesome!!!

The middle one was made with a glass tile inchie backed with scrap paper, embossed on top with a note and around the edges with gold embossing powder. The glass tile was bought from Candytiles2 on etsy. You'll find all kinds of cool glass tiles inchies, twinchies, hearts... Love it :)

the base rings attached to the tiles came from candytiles2 on etsy. I've never made rings from these materials before and I don't know if I'll ever wear them, lol, but they were fun to make anyway :)

Mini recipe album for my sister in law

I finally had time to finish the recipe mini I've been working on :) I went for a vintage-grungy look. I Made it all from scratch using cardstock, patterned paper, manilla tags, paint, inks, stamps, embossing, lace and more. It was so much fun to make :)

The gold leaves are made out of fabric and bought off etsy, the flower is metal and bling and I alcohol inked it to match. Fabric lace on the bottom of the tag.

In memory of the victims in the 22. july massacre and bombing....

I guess most of you has heard about the horrors happening in Norway on the 22. of july. A total of 77 people lost their lives and many was injured. I think we felt like we lost some of our innocence that day, but like a young woman said: when one man can show so much hatered, think how much Love all the rest of us can show....

We are so grateful for all the prayers and the worldwide support after the tragedy, and we still pray for the survivors and all of those who has lost a Loved one....

I also pray that nothing like this must ever happen again anywhere,

The Crazy Amigos - Princesses and Queens

Princess...

Here's a postcard I made totally inspired by the workshop of Towers and Turrets offered by the wonderfully talented Sharon Tomlinson and Deryn Mentock. I soooo want to join their workshop, but I just can't find the time. Hopefully they will run it again next winter when things are more quiet :)

I painted the background, glued down an image from magicmonnlightimages which I totally altered using gesso, black and white pen and neocolourpastels. The butterfly is also from magicmoonlightimages. the towers were collaged using scraps and I drew the windows using black and white pens.

Fun with ATCs - One stamp to cards

Here are my cards, I used a birdcage stamp, I embossed it on the vintage card. The birds are from sandesign on etsy. the colourful background was painted, stamped and collaged, the vintage card was glimmermisted inked, stamped and collaged.

Here's a painting I made today :)

It was done on canvas board, and here are some of the materials I used for the background. I painted and stenciled the background before I collaged, gessoed, used oil pastels and stamped it :)

Here are some pictures from the process...

after painting the angel I glued down a heart doilie, coloured it with some paint and neocolourpastels, stamped the definition of hope, and the word hope on top. I then glued down and coloured some lace at the top and bottom edge.

The Three Muses - Key

Here's my entry, it's a mixed media painting on canvas board, 12x14 inches.

The Key...

The background was painted and stenciled, the mermaid was painted and drawn and embellished with plaid glitter, I stenciled texturepaste around the bottom edges of the canvas and embellished with pearls, bling, pieces of broken seashells etc. I painted with shimmerpaint when dry and used some gold rub n buff. The heart was filled with papiermache paste and the key was embedded into the paste, it was painted and I used some rub n buff gold on the heart as well. I also used a prima pearl swirl.

The Wednesday Stamper - Rabbits and Eggs

It's soon to be Easter and here's my mixed media on wood entry for the challenge :)

I used texture past along the edges and to create the birdhouse.I painted the background and the birdhouse, the sunflowers were stamped and painted and the hen is an image from Lori Dennis. The eggs are from paperscraps on flickr. I put som popdots behind the eggs and image to raise them from the background.

I made a journal page for Patty's fun theme this week :) using images from itkupilli on etsy, stamps,collaged paper, gesso, oilpastels and inks.

Here are the stamps I used:

(The alphabet stamp is from river city and was bought on etsy and the dotted border stamp is about 6 inches long and is from Kreativ Hobby.)

I had so much fun making this :) And the quote ' birthdays are nature's way of telling us to eat more cake' has got to be a fact don't you think :) unfortunately I'm better at remembering to eat cake than to remember birthdates, ooops... :)

Gothic Arch Challenge - Open theme

Thought I'd show you a 'gothic arch one -thousand and one night- theater scene' I made out of a small cardboard box, some paper, trim, stickles, embossing and stuff :)

I had so much fun making it, and I'm giving it to my boyfriends 9 year old daughter as part of her birthday present this spring. I thought my arch theater turned out pretty magical, lol, and she's the sweetest girl with a fantastic imagination, and so I'm sure she'll create the most magical playtime stories using it :)

Come spring...

Here's a collage on wood :) image from magicmoonlight images, her wing is a skeleton leaf. bacground painted, stamped and collaged. I made my own tissue tape by using a two inch wide doublesided tape, tissue and a stamp. the flower is a prima flower and the chipboard swirl was painted, stamped gessoed and inked. I also used some oil pastels.

Here's my attempt at a cute card :) the text is a stamp by Kreativ Hobby and so is the image. The text translates to 'You are an Angel'. I made the flower by cutting and sewing some lace trim to make the base and the punched out a scalloped circle and distressed the edged and coloured a punched out circle. I sew the the button in the center of my flower and attached some coloured feathers to the back of the flower.

This week it's all about colours over at WS :) I chose some happy colours, I'm pretty desperate for spring you see, lol, so I picked up a canvas (4 3/4x7inches) and played with some paint, ink, lace and paper and stamps and here's the result :)

I used a butterfly and girl from magicmoonlightimages, the lace was handcoloured with chalk inks to match spring :) and the words are from lisasalteredart.com. the background was painted and the heart was cut out from scrap paper and inked and edged with black. I outlined the heart with some neocolourpastels to create some depth. the flowers around the upper edge of the canvas are stamped. I edged my canvas with oilpastels.

Here's my entry for this weeks challenge :) had a ton of fun making it :) It was collaged on a wooden base and I made the 'frame out of polymer clay.

Hermine's theme made me think of how lucky I am to live in a country where we have the freedom of speech and are free to express ourselves through art and writing... I just can't imagine what it must be like to be restricted to expressing the opinions of others. Of course one can always debate the degree to which we dare express ourselves and use our freedom freely, without being concerned about how others will react, think and interpret our creations...

My Pen is Free...

This week I made a ginormous tag 3,5x6,5 inches, using lots of different materials. It's greener than it looks, my camera had trouble catching the colours :)I used a pen stamp from Tim Holtz a letter backgroundstamp and I stamped the words pen and free. The background was stamped, gessoed, painted and collaged and I glued down some cheesecloth for texture. I inked and used a gold paintdauber. The birdcage and swirl is painted and cracklestamped and inked chipboard. I also used some plaid dimensional paint on the birdcage and lace for added glitter/texture. I glued down some glass tiles and lace trim at the bottom and the birdcage and fleur de lis where attached with brads. The bird is an image from San design on etsy I glued it onto heavier paper since I only wanted to glue down the bottom part of it. The Heart is a coconut button I got from etsy.

Here's my 5x5 collage. I used an image from magicmoonlightimages. The background was painted, stamped, collaged, inked, heatembossed and doodled.

Image from moonlightimages, isn't she pretty :) The flowers are laces bought on Etsy, I coloured and aged them using distressinks to match the hearts.

The hearts were cut from scrap paper and edged with distress inks, the buttons were originally bright green but I aged them with alcoholinks and gesso.

The Three Muses - Ancestors...

We are all destined for greatness...

When I saw this weeks theme I thought about how our ancestors have paved the path making history for us to learn from on our way through life... I just wish that's what the world would do, learn from past mistakes and make this a better place for all to live in....That's my prayer today :)

I made a canvas journal a while back and prepped the pages following a tutorial by Teesha Moore on youtube. This is my first page in that journal :) I got real messy, and used gesso, oilpastels, stamps from Tim Holtz, inks, tore and pasted som paper from old bookpages, used an image from moonlightimages, butterfly and egg from collageimages on flickr, text from lisasalteredart.com. Here's my attempt at making a postcard using mainly stamps and inks, lol, as you can see I'm not very good at it, but I Love my new Stampers Anonymous clearstamps, and I just had to try using them :) I also used a cityscape from Teesha Moore and a Snowflake stamp (from Inkadinkado maybe?)The snowflakes are hardly visible on this scan, ooops:) I collaged some paper at the top and bottom and used glimmermist and colorbox and distressinks. the snowflake was stamped in different shades of blue and clearembossed. the ruler stamp is from fancypants. Thanks for a fun challenge that got me out of my box :)

I used and image from magicmoonlight images, the weeds are heatembossed, the newspaper is distressinked and cracklestamped and glued down. background is inked. I glued down two feathers, stamped and tore a botanical stamp (hardly shows:) Glued down som cheesecloth, stamped the clockface on tissuepaper and stamped the word forever. It was sealed with matte medium.

The Wednesday Stamper - I can fly...

Here's my 6x6 collage :)

I can fly...

my background is inked with adirondac brights, the white is stamped and heatembossed, I distress inked and glued down some pieces of newspaper, I inked the egg, from paperscraps on flickr, to match the background. The supercute girl is from moonlightimages (see the link on my sidebar 'where I get some of my images').

I choose the theme 'I can fly' cause that's how making art makes me feel... Using my creativity gives my heart wings to make my soul soar :) It just means so much to me, it's a little piece of heaven.

I don't need to make masterpieces, or be a world famous artist, or even to sell my art. What's important is to create. Not that I'm not happy if you appreciate what I create, I cherish every single word of positive feedback, no doubt about it.

But like so many others, I started making art in private, for my eyes only. It starte one day, when I decided I didn't matter anymore, if anyone liked what I created, I decided I didn't even have to show it to anyone, It didn't need to meet anybody elses standards, I didn't need artschool, or somebody to call what I made 'art', I just wanted to create... and on that fine day my soul just opened up and set my mind free and my art was born... and ever since, art to me, has equaled spreading my wings and fly... hence this weeks theme, I can fly...

Sometimes, when all the practical stuff like earning money, paying bills, cleaning house etc, etc, get's in the way of making art, it feels like something important is missing, my wings are not there... And when I get back into my studio it seems I always have to go through creating something I'm not happy with, before I get into the flow, I guess it takes a little while for my wings to unfold and my heart, mind and soul to connect, to create something that gives me the right feeling, the happy good feeling.

I don't often use my art to express pain, anxiety, frustration, I tend to prefer writing for that purpose, not that there's anything wrong with using visual arts to express those sides of life. I Love that art is helping so many to get through their struggles and hard times. Art, I believe, is a healing force. We can heal and recover by expressing ourselves through art. And we can heal through the art of others....

But for now, my art is a result of feeling in tune with my innerself, feeling happy, childlike, curious and free, as if I can fly... and if somebody can see a little piece of happiness in what I make, and that makes them feel just a tiny little bit better, then I'm forever grateful, cause then my wings has not only taken me for a feelgood ego trip, but has let me share my happiness with someone:)
